Unraveled Utopia

As the word suddenly falls into stagnation from its once-chaotic status, there is a notable lack of Potentials to be found… anywhere. You could have sworn there to be at least one in your area - known for succeeding in returning from the trials. However, as you ask cats you know or strangers on your travels, they all say that it seems the Potentials have been called away, to the claw-shaped mountains beyond the Valley of Trials.As you ask around, you hear of something called The Mindless. These cats seem to have lost all ability to act on anything but instinct, defending territory and prey. They're aggressive, and sounds as though they were a severe issue once the Potentials returned from their travels.Deciding to discover once and for all what happened to these powerful cats, that could bend the very reality at their paws, you decide for better or worse to traverse to the mountains in search of the Potentials. Perhaps there, you will find some answers.To those whom perceive my light and my voice, let this be your only warning. Upon meeting the Silkvine, your true purpose will be found - that thread woven into your soul will not lead you astray. If you hesitate now, I suggest you choose to leave. Four and a half years ago, 40 cats returned from a difficult, soul-searching journey they call the Journey of Labors. This awakened their souls - giving them the powers of five different soul types. However, recently, these Potentials have slowly gone missing - recently, nobody has seen a Potential for weeks.As whispers spread about, it's said that they were called to Talonrise Ridge. These cats have been missing for weeks, however, and were meant to bring balance to a world that was otherwise beginning to fall apart.Upon deciding to travel to Talonrise Ridge, more whispers reach the ears of your cats. Some strange ailment has been going around - and the cats stricken with it have been called the Mindless. These cats attack without provocation, and are incredibly territorial; running only on base instinct.With this information, along with the missing Potentials, it's clear something is amiss.

World Lore

The world of Unraveled Utopia is the world of our own, but far in the future. Humanity is long since gone, and cats are only one of many species that thrive in this humanless world. Nature has entirely reclaimed human structures, with the rare highrise city in the distance - but otherwise, no signs of humanity nor memory of it remains.Within this world, a soul awakening is not an unheard of concept. The Potentials were not the first cats to awaken their souls with assistance, and will likely not be the last. However, with the return of the Potentials, came nothing but brewing disaster. They fought and squabbled over power, only causing more chaos in their wake.Because of this, many Potentials created their own groups, while others simply chose to travel on their own. Whatever they chose, it is likely that the cats within Unraveled Utopia have at least heard of soul powers and abilities.Before the events of Unraveled Utopia, there were few gods who let themselves known to the world. The Soulweaver, and the HearthmotherThere is little information on these deities outside of bits and pieces shared by the Potentials.

The Soulweaver

Said to weave and create the souls of all beings, the Soulweaver is a silent observer. All that is known about her is that she creates the souls of all creatures, not just cats, and that her threads are woven around everyone.No one was quite sure when it started happening. At first, everyone thought that it was a bad omen, a sign of something terrible happening.
However, has it continued, nothing seemed to change.Cats nowadays are born with a pure black string around them. Around a tail, a leg, neck, anywhere. You can see them on others, but it's almost as if they are made of nothing, since you cannot touch or remove them. Many had tried at the start of it and had caused injury when their paws seemed to fade though them.
They're not restricting, they more so feel like a very light string of cobweb. Too light to to notice unless you're thinking about it.No one is sure of the reason or service they provide.

The Hearthmother

Before the creation of souls, first the vessels of those souls must be created. Cultivated, nurtured, and protected.
The Hearthmother is said to be responsible for life itself. Her hearth breathes life into those she creates, and she cares for them dutifully, like a hand (paw?) turning coals at a dying fire, nurturing the smoldering flame into a beacon of warmth.
She is said to be as black as night, with claws that alight the ground in sparks when she moves. A roaring fire in her belly, The Hearthmother keeps her children blanketed in her loving warmth before they are brought into the world.

Character creation requires two things: A written component and a visual component. As we are not going to be having roleplay applications, these are for Deciding characters' soul colors and soul shades. These applications are incredibly important for your characters, but all in all create a character you are excited to play as.These applications are able to be hosted wherever comfortable, so long as they are able to be seen by the Loremasters. This includes Carrd, Deviantart, Toyhouse, Docs, and more. These applications are going to be requested to be posted in a specific Discord channel, so the Loremasters can easily access these characters.

Written Requirements

Name: Your character's nameAge: Your character's age at the time of the RPGender: Your character's gender and pronouns.Soul Class: This is to be decided by the Loremasters. However, once decided, it will be required to be shared on your character's sheet. Once decided, you will be assigned your character's soul color - White, Yellow, Orange, Pink, Indigo, or Turquoise. Do not list your preferred soul class on your application, nor your least preferred.Stats: These are the statistics for your character. You have 25 Stat points to disperse through your character sheet, and each stat may have up to 10 slots in it.STR: Strength. Your character's raw power and ability to cause damage.
DEX: Dexterity. Your character's ability to avoid incoming attacks and go unnoticed.
AGL: Agility. Your character's raw speed.
CON: Constitution. Your character's ability to fight off illness and their health.
INT: Intelligence. Think book-smart, your character's world knowledge.
WIS: Wisdom. Your character's ability to make thought-out decisions.Personality: Your character's overall personality. This section will require you to write AT LEAST three positive, neutral, and negative traits about your character. It does not have to be long, but it should give us a good feel for your character.History: Your character's backstory. There is no required length, but it is required you create a full version, along with a bulletpoint backstory in order for quick and easy reading by the Loremasters. Be mindful of triggers and sensitive topics, and make sure that any and all trigger warnings are listed both before reading, along with before the section where the trigger is included. Under no circumstances should there be sexual content in your character application for Unraveled Utopia.Anything beyond these are entirely optional for Unraveled Utopia.

Visual Requirements

Unraveled Utopia is a roleplay campaign with a set end. This means that the RP has a set story and conclusion, but decisions by the players can and will alter the ending of the story. The Roleplay will be played in segments, of which will last a set amount of time.Each segment of roleplay will include being set on a team with other characters. There will be 3 teams of 5 - which will switch with each segment of gameplay. The minimum posting requirement for this roleplay group as of now is 4 posts, but this may change in the future.Roleplay will either take place in the official discord server, or within official shared google docs.

Soul Classes

Every living being - cat, dog, bird, etc. - has an existing soul. This soul is the core of their being, the representation of their truest self. This soul, depending on the traits of the being, takes on a color and shade as they age. Your characters will all have one of six soul colors, grouped by character personality and characteristics.Once your character discovers their soul class, you are allowed to change their appearance to associate with this soul color. This is not a requirement, and would likely happen over time within roleplay rather than immediately upon discovering their soul class.

White Soul

White souls hold the ability of light manipulation and creating illusions. These powers can be used to reflect light off another surface, to make oneself into a glowing torch, creating illusions of beasts that aren't really there, and more. There is no true information on how a white soul is to act, but it is theorized they are quiet and generally self-preserving. White souls' stat focus is Agility.

Yellow Soul

Yellow souls hold the ability to manipulate plant life and summon electricity. These powers can be used to increase the growth of plants, temporarily enlarge a plant, and use plants as weapons. Electricity can also be summoned forth, used as its own offense or used as a way to start electricity-requiring switches. There is no true information on how a yellow soul is to act, but it is theorized they're friendly and warm. Yellow souls' stat focus is Dexterity.

Orange Soul

Orange souls hold the ability to summon flames and manipulate the very earth. These powers can be used to burn away foliage or raise a wall of flames to block someone's path. Earth can also be manipulated, altering the very ground cats stand on in order to take different shapes. There is no true information on how an orange soul is to act, but it is theorized they are loud and impulsive. Orange souls' stat focus is Strength.

Pink Soul

Pink souls hold the ability to heal and manipulate sounds. These powers can be used to heal themselves and others, along with healing other beings other than cats. Sound can be manipulated as well, causing the cat's voice to project or be near silent, or cause a 'dead zone' of sound. There is no true information on how a pink soul is to act, but it is theorized they are mellow and gentle. Pink souls' stat focus is Intelligence.

Indigo Soul

Indigo souls hold the ability to manipulate shadow and create poison. This can be used to create shadows into physical forms, create shadow mimics, and more. Poison can be created and manipulated as well, able to be used on a cat's claws to increase damage or put a cat to sleep. There is no true information on how an indigo soul is to act, but it is theorized they are quick-thinking. Indigo souls' stat focus is Wisdom.

Turquoise Soul

Turquoise souls hold the ability to manipulate wind and alter their body's mass. Wind can be used to cause breezes, thinned into wind blades, or be used to help alter the direction of scents. Body mass manipulation can include altering their size to be bigger or smaller temporarily, or increasing the size of one part of their body. There is no true information on how a turquoise soul is to act, but it is theorized they are passionate. Turquoise souls' stat focus is Constitution.
